Porec is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Croatia.

The city is almost two thousand years old and is located on the coast, protected by the island of Sveti Nikola. In the old town there is the Euphrasian Basilica from the 6th century, one of the most beautiful preserved monuments of early Byzantine art in the Mediterranean. The main streets of the old town still retain their ancient shape and layout of the ancient Roman castrum. There is also the beautiful Marafor Square with the remains of the Temple of Neptune, the Romanesque house and the pentagonal tower and the round tower.

The Poreč region has 37 km of coastline, from the Mirna River near Novigrad in the north to Funtana and Vrsar in the south.

North of Porec, only 9 km away, is the Baredine Cave, the only geomorphological natural monument in Istria, and south of Porec at a distance of 20 km is the Lim Channel, the longest Istrian bay, known as a fish and shellfish farm.
