Žminj is located in central Istria. Take a walk through the medieval town center, see the churches painted with frescoes, the remains of the town walls and towers. The centuries-old Istrian stone houses have been converted to agrotourism, so you can taste the Istrian home cooking. On the way through Žminj and its surroundings you will come across round stone houses standing next to dry stone walls. They used to serve as tool stores and shelters. Such a stone house is called "kažun" in Istria and there are more than 5000 of them all over Istria. The oldest and biggest folk festival in Istria is Bartulja, which takes place on the last Saturday in August in Žminj. It has a hundred-year tradition and is an opportunity to bring together locals, their relatives, friends and guests. Part of the festival is a fair where, in addition to livestock, there are also vegetables from local agriculture, homemade cheese, wine, Istrian souvenirs, clothes and shoes, children's toys, etc.
